Typical Application
ispPAC-POWR6AT6 improves the output voltage accuracy of any DC-DC converter. Using an on-chip Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), the ispPAC-POWR6AT6 monitors the output power supply voltage of a DC-DC converter through differential input signals. The ispPAC-POWR6AT6 maintains the output voltage of the converter by periodically measuring the supply output voltage and applying corrective current to the power supply feedback node. By adding an ispPAC-POWR6AT6 device to a low cost DC-DC converter design the following can be achieved:
- Reduced output voltage error to < 1%
- Compensate for power supply bus IR drop
- Power supply margining
- Enable I2C host to control power supply output voltage
- Power supply voltage measurement

Evaluation Board
The PAC-POWR1220AT8 evaluation board allows the designer to quickly configure and evaluate the ispPAC-POWR1220AT8, ispPAC-POWR1014/A and ispPAC-POWR6AT6 designs on a fully assembled printed-circuit board. The ProcessorPM Development Kit can be modified to support voltage monitoring, margin, and trim evaluation with an on-board ispPAC-POWR6AT6.
